You are the only person who can validate what is true for you. Because you are the only person that can do this, it is important to constantly evaluate what is going on in your life.
If you believe something to be true when it’s not, you will not make the best decisions regarding the subject at hand.
Truth #1 – You Are in Control of Your Life
Although you are living in a world where things get messed up, you are in control of yourself. The interesting thing is that most of the time people react to the situations they are going through in a disruptive emotional state of mind.
Because you are in control of yourself, you must learn to process emotions in a healthy way so that you may address situations rather than react to them.
Being in control of your life also means that you have the power and ability to create what you want out of it. To truly understand this, you must let go of any negative thoughts regarding your past. Creating the life you want requires you to create newness. The past is irrelevant to what you are creating for your future.
Truth #2 – Gratitude is a Powerful Catalyst for Happiness
Gratitude is powerful medicine. When shifting the mind to being grateful, it is hard to stay stressed, frustrated, or angry (unless you shift back into those states).
Being grateful for the past, present, and future will allow you the ability to be appreciative of what is going on in your life. It also allows for a clear state of mind and the ability to be happy in the simplest moments.
Truth #3 – You Are Who You Hang Out With
Proximity is one of the most powerful forces that is available to you. This power will work for you and will also work against you if you are not careful.
If you have ever heard that you are the sum of the five people you spend most of your time with, take a look at the data. If you hang out with healthy people, they will influence your health. If they all have poor spending habits, chances are you will too.
When you fully understand this, you can use proximity to your advantage. Say you want to learn how to play the guitar, then you would surround yourself with other amazing guitar players. If you do this, subtlety you will be influenced to step up your game and become more well-versed on your skills.
Truth #4 – Stop Working so Hard
Success is a beautiful thing and it does not have to be complicated. When you do not understand how to be intentional with your actions in order to maximize results, you will not see optimal outcomes.
There is an appreciation you should have about the grit, hustle, and grind. At the same time if you are “busy” all day and you didn’t get anything done, maybe it is time to reevaluate your actions and intentions.
Being precise in what you are doing will eliminate nonsense and you will stop wasting time. Keep in mind that things do not have to be perfect all the time! You have the ability to do something simple and intentional that will be successful, you just have to discover what that is.
Truth #5 – Allow Yourself to be Present
Have you had the experience where the day went by so rapidly when other times time seemed so slow? Why is it that time is perspective in this aspect? Where is your attention throughout the day?
Are you in constant worry or stress? Do you spend your day reminiscing? What if you allowed yourself the ability to be fully present during the day? Could you spend time with a loved on and put your full attention on them rather than worry about insecurities and other distracting thoughts?
If you find your mind drifting into emotional patterns that are not serving you, take a walk and set a new intention to refocus on what is happening in that current moment in time and chose to stay there.
Decisions
Because you are in the drivers seat of your life, you have to be the one to make the decisions. Life is full of endless potential and possibilities, but only you get to decide if you want to step into them or not.
You have the ability to continue through life allowing situations to happen to you that you have no control over and be impacted by your emotions in a negative way. You also have the ability to make decisions and choose the life that you really want for yourself.
What are you going to choose?
